Gabriela García is a nutritionist and a PhD candidate for the Population Nutrition Science program at the National Institute of Public Health (Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública, INSP) in Mexico. A Fulbright Scholar, Gabriela is working on her thesis project this year at the Carolina Population Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is also evaluating changes in weight among Mexican preschoolers after tax implementation. Gabriela has worked at INSP’s Center for Nutrition and Health Research (Centro de Investigación en Nutrición y Salud, CINyS), where she coordinated several research projects in nutrition and health and has worked on the analysis of the Mexican Health and Nutrition Survey. Her topics of interest are dietary analysis, food environment, and food policies.
