Paula Rodriguez-Ramos

Undergraduate research assistant

Paula is a senior undergraduate student studying Nutrition at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a research assistant with the Global Food Research Program, where she helps examine how food systems and sustainability are connected. Her work reflects her broader interest in how policy, culture, and the food environment influence what people eat and how communities make food choices. Paula is especially interested in Latin American populations in the United States and the ways that nutrition can serve as a bridge to both better health and more sustainable food practices. She hopes to carry this perspective forward in her career as a physician, with a long-term goal of working in pediatric oncology while continuing to advocate for healthier and more sustainable approaches to nutrition.

My least liked food/beverage is… sushi.

My favorite food-related smell is… when my mom cooks cocido (traditional soup from Spain).

My “go-to” comfort food is… chocolate.
