Adedasola Obatola
2026 Fern Fellow
Adedasola is a 2026 FERN fellow between her third and fourth years at Wake Forest University, where she majors in health and exercise science and minors in biology and studio art. She spends most of her time volunteering within the Winston-Salem, NC community and advocating for health education and equity in underserved populations. She hopes to combine creative expression, nutrition, and health policy to bridge gaps in health education and access. As a 2026 FERN fellow, Adedasola is working with GFRP doctoral student Carmen Prestemon to investigate the trajectory between public comments on federal food policy regulations and subsequent policy developments regarding the prevalence of ultra-processed foods in the United States. In the future, Adedasola plans to use the new skills she developed to pursue a Master’s in Public Health, obtain the credentials for a Registered Dietitian, and give back to the communities that shaped her.
