Regina Brown

Doctoral student

Regina is a doctoral student in the Nutrition Department at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. Before coming to UNC-Chapel Hill, Regina completed her master’s of science and master’s of public health degrees at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy with a focus in food and nutrition policy. She went on to work as a researcher at Tufts in the Jordan Nutrition Innovation Lab and the Feed the Future Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab. While her most recent work centered around international nutrition interventions, Regina also has experience and interest in working with domestic nutrition assistance and school meal programs.

My favorite food-related smell is… tomato plants.

My family’s holiday favorite is… sweet potato meringue pie.

Foods I must have in my home include… Teddie’s peanut butter, dates, and flaky salt (often eaten altogether).
