Cristina Lee

Doctoral Student

Cristina is a doctoral student in the Department of Nutrition at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her research interests are in identifying and assessing policies and interventions that promote healthier retail food environments. She holds a master’s of public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a bachelor’s of science in pharmacy-biochemistry from the University of Sao Paulo. Her previous professional experiences include food policy research at Stanford University and school food data analytics at the NYC Department of Education.

The first thing I learned to cook was… miyeokguk (a Korean seaweed soup).

My favorite condiment is… a freshly-made vinagrete (a Brazilian salsa) or kimchi

After a good workout, nothing beats… a vitamina mista (a Brazilian smoothie made out of papaya, avocado, banana, and (plant-based) milk)
